“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” John 12:24
It had to be this way – the way it happened at Calvary. There were neither short cuts nor alternatives to our salvation. Jesus had to die; and like a seed planted in the right soil, He had to RISE AGAIN. This is the apex of Christianity; it’s what separates Jesus from philosophers, great teachers, intelligent minds, and other figures that have made an impression upon the world. This is what separates Christianity (the Church, the Believer, the Body of Christ) from religion and every form of religion that has surfaced to date.
Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection are the keystone of our faith. Jesus is the Stone, a Tried Stone, our Precious Cornerstone – a sure foundation (see Isaiah 28:16). The Resurrection is by far the greatest historical event ever to take place on earth and its objective supersedes any feat known to mankind – to save us from our sins and grant us eternal life. Many soldiers have died on the battlefield to protect and preserve our freedom from one generation to another. They shed their precious blood to set nations free. For many, their bones are still in the grave they were buried in. But Jesus shed His Precious Blood for all of humanity – past, present, and future – and He’s not in the grave, cave or borrowed tomb.
Jesus died as that grain of wheat; He was and is our example. God the Father sowed His Son that He might bring many sons to glory and be the Firstborn among many brethren. Two thousand years later, that One Precious Seed is still bearing fruit in the lives of many. As a result, we stand here today in His victory over sin, death, hell, the devil, and the grave. We no longer have to be slaves of sin, we don’t have to fear death, hell should not torment us, and the devil has no power over us. If we die to ourselves and live for Jesus we too will bear much fruit. You don’t have to be alone in this life. You have Jesus! You have the Church family. You have souls to win to Christ. You Are Not Alone! Happy Resurrection!!!
