Ignorance for the child of God can be the difference between lack and abundance. For example, Jesus says, “seek ye first *(first in time, place, rank) the Kingdom *(royal power, kingship, dominion, rule) of God,” *(which is the right or authority to rule over a kingdom), “and His righteousness *(the state of him who is as he ought to be – the condition acceptable to God).” If, as a child of God, we seek first – as a priority and not out of convenience – God’s power, might, and rule over our lives and over this world, everything we require will be added to us.
Other words for ignorance are: unaware; inexperience; illiteracy; unfamiliarity; obliviousness; witlessness; and lack of knowledge. Depending on one’s level of maturity and the spirit behind the use of these terms, they can be taken offensively or revelatory. It’s offensive if used in a derogatory, degrading manner, and revelatory if used to help one understand where they’re at and what they need to do to be on top. If a person is taught and they refuse to do or change, then it’s just like Paul said, “But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant (I Cor 14:38).” I said that to an elderly Sister when I was about 29 and she was in her 60’s and she was not a happy camper afterwards.
The point is this, as long as you or I for that matter remain ignorant, we will live as subjects in this life, rather than reign as kings. The purpose of the law is to lead us to Christ and the purpose of Christ is to give us abundant life. For us that means Christ delivers us from a sin-full life, as revealed by God’s law, unto a sin-less life by God’s grace – that is Amazing! Amazing not only because of what He did, but because of what he continues to do. This God-life that we have through Christ Jesus causes us to reign, rule, and overcome ALL THINGS! When we are born again we are born into salvation, power, and authority – from Heaven. We have God’s approval to execute His will in the earth.
The only thing that hinders us is ignorance, rebellion, or disobedience – none of which are characteristic of our new nature in Christ. We can be successful in everything we set our hands to do because of Jesus and who we are in Him! He is our Lord, our access to the Father, our liberator from all sin and injustice. He is our LIFE! “Do you realize how fortunate you are? Angels would have given anything to be in on this!” (I Pet 1:12)
