“Aaron and his descendants were set apart to dedicate the most holy things, to offer sacrifices in the Lord’s presence, to serve the Lord, and to pronounce blessings in his name forever.” I Chron 23:13 NLT
“And God blessed them (Gen 1:28 KJV).” The blessing of the Lord is to empower to rule and exercise dominion over His creation. Whenever God blesses it is for the good of the recipient. The opposite of the blessing is the curse. The blessing comes as a result of favor and obedience. The curse comes as a result of disobedience.
The original blessing came from God to man but then God transferred the privilege to bless to man. In Genesis chapter 12 verse 3 God said to Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed (NKJV).” This is the very mindset of God! The blessing of the Lord is irreversible!
We inherit the promise of Abraham through faith in Jesus. “if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise (see Gal 3:29 KJV).” The Gospel of Jesus is not the wrath of God but it is the power, blessing and favor of God for salvation to everyone that believes. It is man’s only hope of redemption that is able to preserve him from the wrath that is to come. Our lives should change for the better after salvation. We can’t or should not settle for less.
With redemption comes reconciliation. With reconciliation comes favor. With favor comes the blessing. With the blessing comes peace and prosperity. We’ve come into covenant relationship with the One True and Living God through His Son Jesus. We have the Blessed Holy Spirit. We are a blessed people. We have the power to make great things happen. The power of God’s blessing is for good success at what we do that He may be glorified.
To invoke God’s power is to invoke His blessing. Release it daily over your life, over your children, over the people of God. Release it over this nation. Release it over the earth – The earth is the Lord’s!
