Today is the sixth Sunday of 2016. There are 46 more Sundays remaining in this year; may each one be more glorious than the previous. In 2nd Corinthians 3:10 AMP the Word say’s “Indeed, in view of this fact, what once had splendor [the glory of the Law in the face of Moses] has come to have no splendor at all, because of the overwhelming glory that exceeds and excels it [the glory of the Gospel in the face of Jesus Christ].” The context of this scripture is comparing the glory of the Old Testament (Law of Moses) to the glory of the New Testament (Gospel of Jesus). Both deal with the law of righteousness. However, it is the glory in the face of Jesus (2nd Cor 4:6) that supersedes, literally outshines the glory that was on Moses’ face. Moses’ glory fades while Jesus’ glory keeps getting brighter and brighter – an ever increasing splendor according to 2nd Corinthians 3:18 AMP.
May each Sunday (each day for that matter) follow the pattern of exceeding the glory of the previous. Do you know Him - Jesus? Did you spend time with the Lord in prayer today? Have you been communing with the Holy Ghost and enjoying the reading of the Holy Word of God? Are you bursting with wisdom and revelation from the Spirit of God like Elihu (see Job 32:8, 18-22)? These are not questions to intimidate, embarrass or condemn, but reminders of what’s necessary and important to fulfill and enjoy the hope of the Father’s calling.
The glories as well as the pains and sorrows of yesterday are gone, BEHOLD, a new and fresh day is here for your advantage and God’s glory! Isaiah says, “He (Jesus) was despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and pain and acquainted with grief; And like One from whom men hide their faces He (Jesus) was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or esteem Him. But [in fact] He (Jesus) has borne our griefs, And He (Jesus) has carried our sorrows and pains; Yet we [ignorantly] assumed that He (Jesus) was stricken, Struck down by God and degraded and humiliated [by Him] (Isa 53:3-4 AMP). Jesus takes the sin, sorrows, pain and grief away! What’s left is the GLORY! Never forget what Jesus has done and is doing for YOU!
Follow hard after God in prayers and intercessions; make time for intimate fellowship – both corporate (Church) and private (one-on-one). Renew yourself in the faith by studying to have an answer for those who don’t believe. You don’t have to be an expert on what “others” believe – perfect your knowledge of what “you” believe. Your life is the single most convincing factor of what “YOU” believe. Make 2016 – “The Year of Advancing the Kingdom” – a personal priority. When the disciples in the book of Acts were persecuted they went everywhere “preaching the word” (Acts 8:1, 3-4). Let the Message and the Power of the Kingdom of God overtake you! “For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, forever. Amen!”
“Now those who were scattered abroad went about [through the land from place to place] preaching the glad tidings, the Word [the doctrine concerning the attainment through Christ of salvation in the Kingdom of God].” Acts 8:4 AMP
