  • To every thing there is an appointed occasion, a fixed/set time when something happens. It’s a predetermined time when everything lines up with God’s purpose. What you may see now is only a worm but the end/purpose is the butterfly. The process of transformation from a worm to a butterfly is not an easy one, but one that is necessary. So it is with you and I as the Church.

God has made everything beautiful in its time (see Eccl 3:11). Collectively and individually, we all have a season, a time, a purpose that will glorify Jesus. The end result or fulfillment is beautiful if we stay the course. The process involves change, transformation, growth, maturity, opposition, hardships, and pain but when it is accomplished it manifests the glory of God.

In last week’s post, we looked at the Church of Laodicea and saw how pride and contentment can settle in and prevent the will of God from manifesting. Jesus counseled them not out of condemnation but out of true love to save them from perishing and get them where they were supposed to be, they lost sight of their purpose. Change is only as difficult as the blindness of the need for it. Every thing must change except for Jesus.

The plan of God is already laid out for us and it is beautiful. The Psalmist said, “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes” (Ps 118:23). The plans that the Father has for us are good, but they involve change. The process is challenging but well worth it. Just keep the goal in mind.

When I was 19 I began working in the factory. I developed a factory mindset and attitude for about 4 years. Entering my 5th year I was promoted to the front office working in accounting. I had to adopt and adapt to a whole new mindset and attitude. What made the transition easier was the fact that I wanted that position.

When I was 24 I gave my life to Jesus. For the previous 10 years I lived a worldly life and had a worldly mindset and attitude. I had to adopt and adapt to a whole new mindset and attitude. What made the transition easier was the fact that I wanted Jesus. Point being, we have to want and embrace the things that the Father has in store for us more than anything. Don’t miss your season!
